Sarah is a passionate hair colourist and educator.

Sarah has always been a natural questioner—constantly asking “why?” and digging deeper into every situation. When it comes to hair colouring and the science behind it, that curiosity kicks into overdrive. “Hairdressers have always been seen as unacademic,” Sarah explains. But she completely disagrees. Every colouring service she provides is approached with care, precision, and a sharp focus on every detail.

Frustrated by the lack of in-depth education around colour theory in traditional salons or colleges, Sarah took matters into her own hands. She turned to books and online learning platforms outside the hair industry, feeding her inquisitive mind and building a unique understanding of her craft.

With over 30 years of experience in some of London’s most prestigious salons—like Trevor Sorbie and Brooks & Brooks—Sarah eventually felt the pull to step away from the city buzz. She swapped the fast-paced London salon life for a quieter one by the sea, where she now lives with her loyal pup, Seymour.

Through her brand, Chaulk, Sarah blends decades of hands-on experience with a fresh, creative approach to hair education. Whether she’s working behind the chair or sharing her knowledge through Chaulk Education, Sarah is passionate about empowering others with her unique perspective on hair colour.
