This course returns to the foundations of beautiful cut and colour—the design principles that create harmony, balance and intention. And yes… how a little contradiction can be just as powerful as perfection.
Creativity isn’t about gimmicks or overcomplicated techniques.

ON THE DAY
HOW THE DAY WORKS
BEFORE THE COURSE
Four weeks before the course you’ll receive a mannequin head.
Choose from:
• Textured/curly brown hair
• Straight blonde hair
Your task before the course:
Design and cut the hair in a shape of your choice.
No colour. No basic long layers. No styled waves. Do not change the texture from curly to straight and visa versa.
We want intention:
Fringes. Disconnections. Texture. Graduations. Undercuts. Bold edges. Asymmetry. Various layering techniques. Details.
Be bold.
Bring your clean, pre-cut mannequin on the day.
MORNING - FOUNDATIONS
Amongst other topics:
• Analysis before action
• Design theory (one length, layers, graduation)
• Placement logic: dark vs light, global vs dimensional
• Shine lines
* Root shadow
* Texture
* Face shapes
• When to follow rules and when to break them
Then we move into colour science.
To include:
• How we truly see colour
• Light, reflection and absorption
• Underlying pigment
• Toners
* Lightening choices
• Warm vs cool
* Curly vs straight hair
Clear. Practical. Immediately applicable.
AFTERNOON - WORKSHOP
You’ll present your pre-cut design.
Then, in a small supported group, you’ll:
* Revisit your hair cut choices
• Design colour with the haircut in mind
• Create intentional placement
• Use dimensional toning where appropriate
• Style, refine the cut and finish
No gimmicks.
No unnecessary complication.
Just thoughtful, purposeful work.
